She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert Drinkwater and Evelyn Drinkwater (Reed); her siblings, Richard Drinkwater (Gloria Jean), Elizabeth Drinkwater Shippa (Eugene), Russell Drinkwater (Althea) and Phyllis Drinkwater (Urban Lord); her son William "Billy" George VanPeursem; Billy.
She is survived by: her husband Bill Carter; her son Stephen VanPeursem (Renae); her granddaughter Cierra Jane (Joe); her great grandchild Violet; her nieces and nephews, Kathryn Page (Dennis), Steven Shippa (Jody), Dianne Drinkwater, Michael Drinkwater (Bonnie) and Lynn Drinkwater Wright (Dick); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Rienie Newlan (Vince) and Helen Stanley; Natalie Cooper (David), Amanda Stanley, Lucas Gonzalez, Blaire Cooper and Eleanor Cooper.
In leu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Lenoir in memory of Jane.
