With profound sadness, we say goodbye to John Douglas Sigmon of Granite Falls, North Carolina, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeanette Bolick Sigmon and Arthur Douglas Sigmon; and his granddaughter Karla Allred. He is survived by: his wife Karen Allmon Sigmon; his daughters, Annette Allred (Stephen) and Katie Stephens (Jason); his grandchildren, Kyle Allred (Kelsey), Kevin Allred (Alexis), Noah Stephens and Ella Stephens; and his great grandchildren, Kallie, Kade and Brynlee Allred. He is also survived by his wife, children, and especially his grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bass-Smith Funeral Home & Crematory (334 2nd St NW, Hickory, NC 28601). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Christ Lutheran Church (324 2nd Ave SE, Hickory, NC 28602).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in John's honor to Christ Lutheran Church or the Cancer Fund.
