We announce the death of John Robert Pope Sr. of Granite Falls, North Carolina, who passed away on August 15, 2026, at the age of 88. He was predeceased by: his parents, William McKinley Pope and Lucy Hargus Pope; his son John Robert Pope Jr.; and his siblings, Raymond, Floyd, Darrell, Clifford, David, Hazel, Frances, Irene, Ann, Ethelyne and Ruth.
He is survived by: his granddaughter Megan Pope; and his brother Cecil "Wormy" Pope (Corinne). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
