He is survived by: his wife Judy Carpenter Hames; his children, Cindy Austin (Michael) of Hudson, Larry Postell of Oak Hill and Loyd Hames, Jr. of Oak Island, NC; and his sister Pat Cohee of Hudson. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
