She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Causby and Viola Mae Causby; her husband James William Laney; and her siblings, Roy Causby, Gary Causby, Tony Wayne Causby, Bob Causby, Pat Causby and Rita Livingston.
She is survived by: her son Jeffery Laney (Melody) of Granite Falls; her granddaughter Amanda L. Horton (Benjamin) of Longs, SC; her great grandchildren, Camden Horton and Everett Horton; and her siblings, Ralph Causby (Pansy) of Newton, Steve Causby (Betty) of Granite Falls, Mark Causby (Patti) of Granite Falls, Joe Causby (Sandy) of Lincolnton, Donna Coffey of Granite Falls, Connie Allison (Donnie) of Lenoir and Joan Sanders of Rutherfordton.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Mountain Grove Baptist Church (2485 Connelly Springs Rd, Granite Falls, NC 28630). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
