Norma Jeanette Ryder Starnes Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Norma Jeanette Ryder Starnes of Granite Falls, North Carolina, who passed away on November 3, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard T. Ryder and Ruby Fowler Ryder; her husband Nick Waldo Starnes; and her brothers, Larry Rhyder and Glenn Fowler.
She is survived by: her children, Ricky Allen Cook (Maria) of Mary Esther, FL and Sherry Lynn Ervin of Hudson; her caregiver Terry Lee Senez (Bryan) of Walker, LA; her stepsiblings, Steve Starnes of Connelly Springs and Sandra Townsend of Hickory; and her brother Thomas Rider (Wayne Wilson) of Long Beach, CA. She is also survived by six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Refuge Missionary Baptist Church (375 Mt Herman Rd, Hudson, NC 28638). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
