She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Herman and Ruby Church Herman; her granddaughter Haley Elrod; and her siblings, Ray, Harvey Herman and Cora Lou Hefner.
She is survived by: her husband Jerry Edison Wellman; her children, Robert James Elrod (Cathy) of Conover, Cheri Fergerson (Kevin) of Hickory and Keith Allen Elrod (Kimberley) of Hickory; her grandchildren, Corey, Kasey, Breana, Jonathon and Jordan; and her great grandchildren, Grace, Ridge, Ansley and Salem.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Bass-Smith Granite Funeral Service (106 S Main St, Granite Falls, NC 28630). A celebration of life was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
