It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Lovejoy Buckner of Granite Falls, North Carolina, who passed away on June 28, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Curtis C. Lovejoy and Flossie Annas Lovejoy; her husband James Buckner; her children, Phillip Whisenant and Eva Marie Whisenant; and her siblings, Joyce Cummings and Carson Lovejoy.
She is survived by: her children, Douglas Whisenant (Kathy) of Icard, Daryl Whisenant (Fay) of Lenoir, Dale Whisenant (Brenda) of Hudson and Susan Garrison (Tom) of Granite Falls; and her sisters, Iva Lee Fields of Hickory, Reggie Broyhill of Lenoir and Daphne Madron of Lenoir. She is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
