It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Mae Church Sipes (Granite Falls, North Carolina), who passed away on January 2, 2026, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Dempsy Church and Nina Nae Church Church; her sister Willa Overcash; and her son-in-law Tom Kiziah. She is survived by: her husband Alfred Randall Sipes; her daughters, Theresa Sipes Kiziah and Phyllis Sipes Vinyets (Leo); her grandchildren, Charlie Kiziah (Danelle), Kelli Kiziah, Diamond Vaught and Nicole Vinyets; her great grandchildren, Austin Faw (Makayla), Hayden Reep, Ella Crowe, Lily Crowe, Thomas Clay Kiziah and Kash Kiziah; her siblings, Rev. Lee Church (Penny), Joann Annas (Steve) and Wayne "Gomer" Church (Kim); and her brother-in-law William Richard Sipes (Judy). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
