It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Amanda Ellen Mitchell (Greensboro, North Carolina), who passed away on June 22, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henrietta Henderson and D. P. Henderson; and her siblings, Montgomery Henderson, Sue Henderson, Estella Murph, Buck Henderson, Ola Newman, Charity Lynch and Durris Henderson.
She is survived by: her husband John "Johnny" Mitchell; and her children, Donna Mitchell (Joe Rakowski) and Joe Mitchell. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ellen's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Cathedral of.
