She is survived by: her son Edward Pettiford of Virginia; her siblings, Van David Ray of New Jersey, Lois Ray (Sissy) of Greensboro and Shawn Craighead of New Jersey; and her granddaughters, Sabrina Jones of Greensboro and Alexandra Pettiford of Havelock. She is also survived by six great grandchildren.
