She was predeceased by: her husband Gary Franklin Spitler; and her parents, James Marzelle Sawyers and Glenna Spauling Sawyers. She is survived by: her son Gregory Thomas Spitler (Christy); her grandchildren, Nicholas Alexander Mullins (Kalynn), Haley Nicole Mangum (Ethan) and Collin Matthew Spitler; her daughter Anne Elizabeth Seay (James); her granddaughters, Caroline, Abigail and Gabrielle Seay; her son Stephen Franklin Spitler; her sister Phyllis Sawyers; and her brothers-in-law, Brian Lee Spitler and Edwin Franklin Spitler Jr..
