He is survived by: his parents, Amber Herndon and Dewayne Herndon; and his sister Haleigh Herndon. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

“This news just breaks my heart. I met Blake a few years ago I believe. He dated my grand daughter for a very short time. But in that short time I loved him and told him he was my adopted grandson. I've sent him cards of encouragement and stayed in touch through messenger. I'm going to miss his promised visit in June. He was just the type of person you just loved after 1st meeting him. I'm praying for God's Grace for the family. He will be missed by so so many of my family as well”
