He was predeceased by: his wife Laverna Varner; his parents, Barney Archie Varner and Daisy Dunn Varner; and his siblings, Talmadge Varner, Pauline Manness, Virginia Stout and Billie Snow.

He is survived by: his children, Teresa Hutchens (Edward), Bobby Lee Varner, Jr., Randy Varner (Janet), Sandra Worley (Phil), Ellie Roberts (Robin) and Ola Varner; and his former wife Norma Pelchat. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren, numerous other family members and friends.
