He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Straughn and Oney Robinson Caviness Straughn; and his siblings, Curtis, Augustus'Gus', Clay, Charles'Pete', Toby, Richard, Doris Callahan, Mary Clopton and Patsy Straughn.
He is survived by: his wife Josephine; his children, Robert Dean Straughn (Marlina), Anita Yvonne Straughn, Steven Len Straughn (Leslie Moore) and Samuel Andrew Straughn (Kathryn); his grandchildren, Mindy Williams (Alex), Maria Thacker (Jeff) and Robert Dean Straughn Jr.; his siblings, June Lobdell and Joseph'Sugar'Straughn (Gail); and his sisters-in-law, Nancy Andrews Straughn and Alice Sweatman Straughn. He is also survived by grandkids; 3 great great grandkids, many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
