He was predeceased by : his parents, Forrest Wray and Lillie Weatherford Wray; his brothers, Curtis Lee Wray and Michael Dale Wray; and his former life partner Cornelia Van Harvey.

He is survived by : his wife Judy Carole Wray; his children, Kimberly Reas, Kevin Godwin (Chanda), Kory Godwin and Kristy Godwin; his grandchildren, David Reas of Macey Faulkner, K. C, Matt Godwin and Breanna Godwin; and his great great grandchildren, Seraphina Godwin, Shiloh Godwin and Calli Reas. He is also survived by other loving family members and friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the George Brothers Funeral Service (803 Greenhaven Dr, Greensboro, NC 27406). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
