He is survived by: his wife Shirley; and his children, David Thomas of Davidson, Chris Thomas of Winterville, Kathy Chapman of Monroe and Emily McArthur (Mike) of Mint Hill. He is also survived by three stepchildren, fifteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
