Charles leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Charles’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Toon Routh and Eula Thomas Routh; his wife Mary Kirkman Routh; his siblings, Carl, Fred, Chloe Gregson (Wilford) and Peggy Russell (Charles); and his siblings-in-law, Victor and Marian Murchison.
He is survived by: his sister Joyce Fagg (Jack). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to endowment funds established by the Rouths, including the Charles and Mary Routh Education Fund at Friends Homes in Greensboro, the Shepherd's Center of Greensboro, Centre Friends Meeting, the Friends Center at Guilford College, Quaker Lake Camp Foundation, any of the organizations enumerated above to which Charles contributed his time, or to the charity of your choice.
