She was predeceased by: her parents, George Woodley Stiller and Mildred Staton Stiller; and her husband Stephen Sharp Powel. She is survived by: her daughters, Melinda Powel Morgenstern (Morty Morgenstern) and Kristen Powel Cornelison (Scott Cornelison); her grandchildren, Nyx Wright, Catherine Wells (Christian), Powel Cornelison and Bryce Cornelison; her stepgrandchildren, Travis Morgenstern, Cole Morgenstern, Nolan Morgenstern and Charlie Thomas; and her pets, Maia and Cleo.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 19th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the New Garden Friends Meeting (801 New Garden Rd, Greensboro, NC 27410).
