It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dorothy Kendall Kearns (Greensboro, North Carolina), who passed away on October 20, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
Though Dorothy may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Dorothy touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Weldon Kendall and Eva Jones Kendall; her husband Lyles Kearns; and her daughter-in-law Lipika Mohanty. She is survived by: her children, Jeffri Kearns Adkins (Tommy) of Charlottesville, VA, Kendall Kearns and Leigh Kearns Owens (John) of Durham, NC.; and her sister Faye Kendall Wright of High Point. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the New Garden Friends Meeting (801 New Garden Rd, Greensboro, NC 27401). Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kearns Academy, 1710 McGuinn Drive, High Point, NC 27265 or to New Garden Friends Meeting, 801 New Garden Road, Greensboro, NC 27410.
