He was predeceased by: his parents, John Alexander and Lillie Mae Pugh Curtis; his brothers, Edward, Norman, William Rufus and Marshall; and his son William Alexander Curtis (Alex).
He is survived by: his wife Jane Lee Braswell Curtis; his children, John Douglas Curtis (Ellen) of Greensboro and Stephanie Paige Curtis Malushizky (Dave) of Davidson; his grandchildren, Joshua Curtis (Elisa), Ben Curtis (Jaclyn), Will Curtis (Samantha), Zach Curtis (Megan), Elissa Curtis, Aaron Rollans and Anna Rollans; and his great grandchildren, Jack, Nora Kate, Collins, Luke and Sequoia Curtis. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
