He was predeceased by: his parents, Thirlo Townson and Flora Harris Townson; his son Dwayne Townson; his stepson Gene Wyrick; and his brothers, Leon Townson and James Townson.
He is survived by: his wife Edna Lee Poole Townson; his children, Brian Townson (Cynthia) and Rhonda Snodgrass (Tom); his stepsons, Gary Wyrick, Roger Wyrick and Randy Wyrick; his grandchildren, Ashley Graves (Derrick), Kristin Garza (Cody), T. J. Cash (Samantha) and Deidre Cash; and his stepgranddaughter Norma Jean McAdoo. He is also survived by four great grandchildren and many other extended family.
