She was predeceased by: her parents, Levi Chavis and Ethel Mae Spaulding Chavis; and her husband Billy Dean Thompson. She is survived by: her children, Jimmy Dean Thompson (Karen) of Greensboro, NC and Tammy Thompson Harris (Jeff) of Greensboro, NC; her grandchildren, Brandon Keith Thompson of Greensboro, NC, Ryan Dean Thompson (Monica) of Greensboro, NC, Amelia Kate Harris of Greensboro, NC and Madeline Elizabeth Harris of Greensboro, NC; her great grandchildren, Owen Dean Thompson, Evelyn Jade Thompson and Bodie James Thompson; her sisters, Nita Smith and Sylvia Harris (James); her sister-in-law Tina Chavis; and her brothers, Ronald Chavis, Earl Chavis, James Ertle Chavis and Wilbert Lee Chavis. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
