He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Hillary Pratt and Mae Pratt; and his sisters, Margaret Taylor and Judith Kingsley. He is survived by: his wife Penny Jessup Pratt; his children, Tanya Pratt MD (Eric Butler), Gerald Pratt III (Margaret), Debra Debyah (Shawn) and Martin Kingsley (Lisa); and his brothers, Dennis Pratt (Carol) and James Pratt (Nicoletta). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

However, those who wish to pay their respects can make donations in his name to the animal shelter in Guilford County, a cause close to his heart.
