With sadness, we share the passing of Grace Yvonne Rumsey of Greensboro, North Carolina. Grace, born on November 3, 1933, passed away on September 17, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Grace for her warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. While she will be deeply missed, the influence she had on the lives around her remains. Loved ones will reflect on the time spent together. She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Edward Hatherill and Laura Ellen Hatherill Knight; her husband Ray Rumsey; her sister Jean Thornton; and her granddaughter Ashleigh Rumsey.
She is survived by: her children, Yvonne Denny (Bruce), Jeff Rumsey (Katherine), Stacy Beard Jason Rumsey (Greg) and Evvie Rumsey; and her brother Bob Hatherill of Prineville, Oregon.. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Morehead United Methodist Church (3214 Horse Pen Creek Rd, Greensboro, NC 27410). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
