He is survived by: his wife Betty Jane Hester Messick; his sons, Mark (Angie) of Greensboro, David (Brian Lattimer) of Greensboro and Matt (Holly) of Greensboro; his grandchildren, Tyler (Kelli), Sam (Carolina), Dylan and Kate; and his sisters, Janice Palmer of Lewisville, NC and Julia Hauser of Raleigh, NC.
