She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Paisley and Florence Gordon Paisley; her sister Barbara Paisley; and her daughter Laura Jo Sockwell. She is survived by: her husband William "Boyd" Sockwell; her son Lance Sockwell (Shervawn); her grandchildren, Sierra Sockwell Doyle (Darren), Lakota Sockwell and Easton Boyd Sockwell; and her great grandchild Turner Stout Doyle.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church (5120 Burlington Rd, Greensboro, NC 27405). A burial will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery (5120 Burlington Rd, Greensboro, NC 27405). Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church (5120 Burlington Rd, Greensboro, NC 27405).
