He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Albert Mathewson and Ella Mary Lewis Mathewson. He is survived by: his wife Cora; his children, Jacquette "Jackie" Michelle, Jessica Denise (Lorenzo), Jason Edward (Shalanda) and Joyce Lynn; his siblings, Mary Elizabeth Davis (Lemuel), Alfred Dennis (Pamelya Herndon) and John Turner (Lesli Foster); his grandson Julian Edward; and his sister-in-law Dianne Mathewson. He is also survived by seven nieces, three nephews, five grandnieces and three grandnephews.
