With profound sadness, we say goodbye to James Campbell Sr. (Greensboro, North Carolina), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. James left this world on July 23, 2025 at the age of 91, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family. He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Campbell and Etta Campbell; his siblings, Lois Campbell and Kenneth Campbell; and his grandparents, Julius and Annie.

He is survived by: his grandson Hillcrest Baptist; his wife Hulda Campbell; his children, Jay Campbell (Becky), Debbie Lemonds (Ron) and Tammy Steele (David); his grandchildren, Chad Campbell (Sarah), Tyler Gaulden (Erica), Katie Pegram (Hunter), Jacob Steele and Madison Steele; his great grandchildren, Landon, Mason, Liam, Ella, Hurley and Pegram; his grandchildren, Kevin Bunch and Stefanie Skinner; and his friend Juanita Moore. He is also survived by his family, church family, friends and neighbors.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Street Baptist Church (3113 N Church St, Greensboro, NC 27405). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.

“What a legacy this man left! A very kind, humble child of God who is now in Heaven with the Lord he has so graciously followed all these years. His faithfulness to the Lord spoke volumes to all who knew him. He loved the Lord and his salvation was sure. To Hulda, prayers go our to you as well as each and every family member. Joy comes in the morning. We will see JC again. What a day that will be! Love you, Steve & Cyndy Vernon”
