He was predeceased by: his parents, Rex Albert Bowen and Lena Pridgen Bowen. He is survived by: his wife Janet Bowen; his siblings, Jo Ann Chu, Judy Graham (Mark) and Gerald Bowen (Bobbie); his sister-in-law Paulette Hagler (Craig); and also Cooper. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Pisgah Global Methodist Church 2600 Pisgah Church Rd., Greensboro, NC 27455.
