He was predeceased by: his parents, Ligon Grant Compton and Thelma Blythe Compton; and his wife Monnie Digh Compton. He is survived by: his daughters, Nicole Lowrance (David) of Johns Creek, GA and Christen Allison (Brent) of Arden, NC; his grandchildren, Jack Lowrance of Washington, DC, Caroline Allison of Chapel Hill, NC, Anna Lowrance of Bryn Mawr, PA and Sarah Margaret Allison of Arden, NC.; his brother David Compton (Cindy) of Charlotte, NC; and his brother-in-law Charles Digh (Nicha) of Spartanburg, SC.. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, relatives, and friends.
