He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Coble Dye and Mozelle Tilley Dye; and his siblings, JoAnn Hucks, Durene Cave, Clyde Dye and Peggy Marshall.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley V. Dye; his children, Billy Dye (Cindy), Lori Felts, Randy Dye (Deann) and Patti Dye; his grandchildren, Johnathan Landwehrmann, April Nix, Kaitlin Horst, Brittany Gamble, Lauren Jones, Daniel Dye, Taylor Smith, Ethan Dye and Emily Jackson; and his sister Joetta Jackson. He is also survived by twenty great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM at the Baptist Church (4079 Battleground Ave, Greensboro, NC 27410). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. The military honors was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Westminster Gardens (3601 Whitehurst Rd, Greensboro, NC 27410).
