He was predeceased by: his parents, Peggy Vaughn and Kenneth Vaughn; and his sister Tracy Whaley. He is survived by: his wife Laura; his sons, Nikolas (Vanessa) and Rece (Francesca); his pets, Finn and Toby; his siblings, Kim Vaughn, Matthew Vaughn (Tisha) and Amy Morrow (Johnny); his niece Leigh Whaley (Courtney); and his nephew Geoffrey Whaley (Tim).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to Appendix Cancer Pseudomyxoma Peritonei Research Foundation (ACPMP.ORG.).
