He was predeceased by: his wife Doris; and his daughter-in-law Jan. He is survived by: his great grandchild Eddie; his grandchildren, Kevin (Aaron), Leigh-Paige Smith, Owen, Elizabeth, Ed, Kendall and Andrea Vaughn; and his brother James Hanner. He is also survived by his 4 children, 9 grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to GCUMC, 1205 Fleming Road, Greensboro, NC 27410.
