Josephine Cheek Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Josephine Cheek (Greensboro, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 17, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Robert Lee and Fannie Sue McGuire Tranbarger; her husband Vern Cheek (Red); and her siblings, Charles Robert Lee "Junior" Tranbarger, James Tranbarger, Mildred Bateman and Gail Berry.
She is survived by: her children, Reggie Shelton, Dempsey Shelton, Tammy Welborn (Randy) and Debbie Parrish (Stuart); and her siblings, Edith Dodson (Wade) and Jerry Tranbarger (Joyce). She is also survived by grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews.
