He was predeceased by: his former wife Joyce Richardson Bateman; and his parents, Roger Bateman and Gladys Bateman. He is survived by: his wife Patsey Simmons Bateman; his children, Steve Bateman (Lori), Sherry Bateman Sprecher (Bob) and Julie Bateman Rhoads (Paul); and his grandchildren, Josh Bateman (Whitney), Joy Bateman Conway (Sean), Olivia Sprecher, Jordan Sprecher, Jacob Rhoads, Annie Rhoads and Matt Rhoads. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
