He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Edward Young and Blanche Benjamin Thornton Young. He is survived by: his wife Caroline; his daughter Amy; his son-in-law George Jordan; his son Lance; his daughter-in-law Kathryn Young; his grandchildren, Ben, Will Jordan, Sienna and Cade Young; his sister Faye Young Strum (Bill); his sisters-in-law, Jannelyn Spratt (Michael) and Eve Spratt (Jim); and his nieces and nephews, Allen Strum (Kate), Mary Elizabeth Strum Fleming (Patrick), Clif Edwards (Lauren) and Carly Edwards.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church (617 N Elm St, Greensboro, NC 27401).
