He was predeceased by: his parents, Leven Morton and Nannie Barbee Morton of Asheboro; his brothers-in-law, Lee Erickson of Greensboro and Ron Lindley of Greensboro; Harold and Marjorie Grant of Greensboro.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Grant Morton; his children, Robert Morton (Aimee) of Greensboro, Patrick Morton (Christy) of Greensboro, Beth Morton Hutchby (Eric) of Mooresville and Nick Morton (Michele) of Greensboro; his grandchildren, Logan Morton, Carsyn Morton, Kate Hutchby, Emily Hutchby, Jack Hutchby, Charlie Hutchby, Ava Morton, Landon Morton and Eloise Morton; and his sisters, Ann Morton Davis (Darryl) of Beaufort and Janet Morton Peterson (Mark) of Raleigh. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
