He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Herman Dickerson and Macie Lee Rumley Dickerson; his wife Ann Crutchfield; and his brothers, Carl "Dean" Dickerson and Anthony "Cleve" Dickerson.

He is survived by: his daughter Ashley Larkin (Shabazz) of Nashville, TN; his grandchildren, Royal Larkin of Nashville, TN. and Legend Larkin of Nashville, TN.; his siblings, Cheryl M. Dickerson of Collinsville, VA, Teresa L. Carter (Chris) of Danville, VA, Stafford "Lenny" Dickerson of Grand Prairie, TX, Felix W. Dickerson of Fayetteville, NC and Wesley L. Dickerson (Mary) of Raleigh, NC.; and his goddaughter Dorothy Kelley. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 30th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 12:00 PM. Viewing was held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Hairston Funeral Home (301 Fayette St, Martinsville, VA 24112).
