He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Wilburn Whitaker "PawPaw Dude", Russell and Lois Griffith. He is survived by: his son Cameron Whitaker; his parents, Rhonda Goodlett (Steve) and Jerry Whitaker; his brother Devin Whitaker (Cathi); his grandmother Ann Whitaker; his nephews, Gabriel and Mikey Whitaker; his niece Kayla Whitaker; and his stepsiblings, Matt Goodlett and Stephanie Cooper.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Mount Pisgah Methodist Church (2600 Pisgah Church Rd, Greensboro, NC 27455).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Shane's memory to Teen Challenge, a program for those struggling with addiction.
