He was predeceased by: his parents, Morris Thomas and Gladys Hill; his daughter Willa Gray Locklear; his siblings, Camilla Travis and Ernest Thomas; and his stepfather William Hill.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Herring Thomas; his son Derwin Locklear (September); his granddaughter Calista Gray Locklear; his great grandchild Indya Gray Locklear Strickland; and his stepbrother James "Jimmy" Hill (Kathi). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
