He is survived by: his wife Mae Charles (Mary); his children, Carolyn Anderson of Greensboro, NC, Vanessa Fuller-Mercer of Greensboro, NC, Pamela A. Milliken of Greensboro, NC, Manilla N. Anderson of Greensboro, NC and Nelson L. Anderson, Jr. (Aisha) of Greensboro, NC; his son-in-law Glen Hampton Sr. of Greensboro, NC; his sisters-in-law, Lucille Melton of Morven, NC and Johnnie Mae Pettiford of Morven, NC; his sisters, Janie Waddell of Philadelphia, PA, Gloria Key (Milton) of Gastonia, NC and Mary Jennings of Bath, SC; and his goddaughter Shandra Allison. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
