He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Alvin Ellis and Helen Ellis; his former wife Elinor Willever Ellis of High Point, N. C.; his children, Eileen Johnson of Greensboro, N. C., Richard Ellis, Jr. (Kim) of Rocky Mount, Karen Price (Jerry) of Sophia, N. C., Michael Ellis and S. C.; his grandchildren, Rachel Johnson, Ethan, Sebastian Ellis, Alex, Savanna and Joe Price; and his great grandchildren, Callie and Oaklynn Price-Russell.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his memory be made to Southeast High School Athletic Booster Club, 4530 SE School Rd., Greensboro, N.C., 27406.
