He was predeceased by: his parents, John Roby Byerly Sr. and Rachel Hunt Byerly; and his siblings, Bassett, Roy, Hubert, Walter, Ethel and Hazel.
He is survived by: his siblings, John Roby Jr. (Marlene) and Mamie; his wife Dorothy; his daughter Rhonda; and his granddaughters, Jennifer (Louis Luempert) and Jessica Adkins.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Forbis and Dick North Elm Chapel (1118 N Elm St, Greensboro, NC 27401).
