He was predeceased by: his mother Addie Bell King; his wife Wilma M. Johnson; his sons, Jerry D. Reedy and Gary L. Bridges; and his brother Frank (Herbert Johnson).
He is survived by: his sister Judy Tilley (Dennis) of Ararat; his children, Joyce G. Reedy of Colfax, Connie B. Lakey (Harvey) of Julian, Robert B. Burchett (Missy) of Mouth and Barry Bridges (Reda) of Greensboro; and his sibling's children, Brenda J. Gibbs (David) of Randleman, Sandra Kinley of Randleman, Candace Thompson (Nick) of Walkertown, Phillip Johnson (Happy) of Denton, Daniel Johnson of Randleman, Matthew Tilley (Deanna) of Pilot Mountain and Charles O'Connor of Greensboro.
