He was predeceased by: his parents, John Fletcher Simpson and Carolyn Atkinson Simpson; his wife Betsy; his daughter Beth; his sister Camille; his brother-in-law John; and his friends, Bill and Anne Snyder.

He is survived by: his son Edwin (Debbie); his grandson David (Kayla); his sister Mary (Mai); his nieces, Joanna (Fred) and Sally (Richard); and his nephew John (Kathy). He is also survived by children and grandchildren; and many cherished friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
