He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Rainey, Sr. and Mary Ward Rainey; his siblings, Barbara Edwards, George Rainey, James "Jimmy" Rainey and Thomas "Tommy" Rainey; and his son-in-law Chuck Wagoner.
He is survived by: his wife Jewel Carter Rainey; his children, Jeff Rainey, Mark Rainey and Julie Wagoner; his granddaughter Riley Wagoner; and his friend Dash Rainey. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
