Virginia Nelson Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Virginia Nelson of Greensboro, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 20, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Eddie Byrd and Bessie Byrd; and her stepson Scotty Nelson. She is survived by: her husband Johnny Nelson; her children, Sherry Meyers (Daniel), Judy Wilmoth (Frankie) and Charles Durham; and her stepchildren, Andy Nelson (Angie), Lori Suits (Mike) and Sherri Nelson. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 28th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the George Brothers Funeral Service (803 Greenhaven Dr, Greensboro, NC 27406). A memorial service was held on Sunday, September 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
