Wanda Long Adams Obituary
Wanda Long Adams, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully departed this life on September 23, 2024, in Guilford County, North Carolina. Born in the Alamance county on March 25, 1956, Wanda graced this earth for 68 beautiful years.
A hardworking individual, Wanda graduated from Grimsley High School with the class of 1975. She dedicated many years of service to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) before retiring. Her career was marked by diligence and a commitment that earned her respect and admiration.
Wanda found immense joy in family gatherings, cherishing every moment spent with her beloved grandkids and great-grandkids. Her love for her family was boundless, and she was known to have loved hard. Regular trips to Myrtle Beach were amongst her favorite pastimes, where she created lasting memories with those she held dear.
Preceding her in death are her father, John Henry Long; mother, Emma Irene Long; sister, LeSherle Long; and her devoted husband, Claude William Adams.
She leaves behind a loving legacy through her daughter Davin Long and son Jarrett "Ashley" Long. Her memory will be treasured by her grandchildren: Kendra, Ayonna, O'Ryan, Devin, Kamarah, Trevaughn, Kiyran, Ashton, Ashley, Laila, Krillin, Azaiah, and Queen. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Haven and Avry. Her brothers and sisters, Ledrele, John (Sonya), Jackie, John Adams (Denise), Tony Adams (Shirley) Timmy Adams, Doris Adams-Slaughter, Narcissus Adams, Alicia Adams-Thorpe, Linda Adams, Brenda Adams-Marks along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, will forever hold her in their hearts.
Family, friends and all whose lives she touched are invited to celebrate Wanda's life. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 30th, 2024, at noon, followed by the funeral service at 1 PM. The Service will take place at Triad Cremation & Funeral Service.
