He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Smith and Shelby Smith (Lackey); and his brother Danny Smith of Lake Gaston. He is survived by: his sister Kim Shelley (Smith); his brother-in-law Mark of Greensboro; his sibling's children, Josh Shelley (Danielle) of Memphis, TN, Jordan Shelley (Ashley) of Cary, Joseph Shelley (Caitlin) of Greensboro, Anna Shelley of Memphis, TN and Sienna Smith Goldsmith of Charlotte; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Harvey, Samuel, Verity, Judah, Levi, Asa and Emma Shelley; his close friend Max; and also Gina Byrd of Asheboro.
